Gweru-based reggae artiste Joe Wailer, born Joe Phiri, otherwise known as Uncle Joe in music circles, recently launched his eight-track album titled The Solution in New York.
The album was launched in New York last week Wednesday by Evolution Music Management Promotion founded by Teresa Kemp.
Ita��s also set for a Harare launch on February 28.
The Solution is Wailera��s sixth album. His fifth, Proud to be a Rasta, was in 2012.
Between the two albums he has been nurturing young talent in the Midlands Province through his Midlands Arts and Culture Festival Zimbabwe Organisation (MACfest).
The album is already enjoying favourable airplay from Midlands-based radio stations, Ya FM and 98.4 FM.
His publicist Brenna Matendere said the aim of the album was unity- a basic tenet of reggae music.
a�?The aim of the album is to promote peace and unity among Zimbabweans,a�? said Matendere. The solution was recorded at Tony Ga��s Brainworx Studios in Harare.
Wailer has in the past shared the stage with the likes of Luciano, Morgan Heritage and Sizzla Kalonje. .
