John Mafa dies

JOHN Mafa has died.
Mafa died at a Chegutu Nursing Home yesterday morning after suffering from congestive cardiac failure.
Zanu PF Commissar Webster Shamu said the Zanu- PF Mashonaland West confirmed Mafa’s death saying it was a huge loss to the party.

“He was a committed cadre and his death is a great loss to the party. We send our condolences to his family,” he said.

Shamu said Mafa had participated in the liberation struggle and had remained a great servant of Zanu-PF until his death. Mashonaland West chairman, Temba Mliswa said Cde Mafa had been declared a liberation war hero by the party’s provincial executive.

“We met as an executive and accorded him the recognition of liberation war hero in honour of his service to the party here in Mashonaland West.

“He was a very humble sober men and his advice and contribution to the party will be missed.”

Mourners are gathered at Mafa’s Toffin Farm in Chegutu.
