JP, Killer T headline Chibuku finals after-party

JAH Prayzah and Killer T will headline the Chibuku Neshamwari Dance Festival finals after-party set for Harare Gardens this Saturday.

The traditional dance fete will see, at least, 10 cultural groups battling for honours as the Chibuku brand celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Organisers say it’s all systems go for the annual competition.

“We are excited to host another edition of the Chubuku Neshamwari Dance finals here in Harare.

“We wish all the participants all the best and urge them to bring their best to the stage,” said Patricia Murambinda, Delta Corporation, general, corporate affairs.

Killer-T

Seven different types of dance like Amabhiza, Dinhe, Chewa, Mbende Jerusalema, Majukwa, Mbakumba and Gure are set to be showcased.

Mufakose-based Nyau crew, Dedza Chitandidzo, will carry hopes for the capital, while those from Bulawayo will bank on Ulenje Arts.

Masvingo province will be represented by Dzimbamabwe TD Group, while Dapurahunanzva (mbakumba) represents Manicaland.

Other provinces like Matabeleland South will be represented by Bolamba Performing Arts (Setapa), Matabeleland North by Pezhuba Pachena Dance Ensemble (Nsumbule), Mashonaland West by Budiriro Arts Ensemble), Midlands (M’kango) and Mashonaland Central by Marimba Arts Ensemble.

To date, the competition has grown to become one of the most sought-after platforms, which promotes local heritage.
