Over the years, the Master of High Court also served as the Registrar and Sheriff at once.
The office’s unbundling comes a month after the death of the former master of High Court Mr Charles Nyatanga, who wore all the three hats at the same time.
Mr Eldad Mutasa, who was acting Assistant Master of High Court, was elevated to the post of Acting Master.
He is deputised by Mrs Nomonde Mazabane, who was previously the assistant registrar of the High Court (Civil Division).
Ms Mazabane formerly headed the Supreme Court registry.
Mbare resident magistrate Mr Elijah Makomo is now Acting Registrar of the High Court while Mr Njabulo Mabuya who was at the High Court in Bulawayo was appointed Acting Deputy Registrar (Civil Division).
Mr Edmore Matemadombo remains the Acting Deputy Registrar (Criminal Division).
Mr Macdoff Madega was appointed Acting Sheriff.
JSC Deputy Secretary Mr Rex Shana confirmed the appointments saying they were all in acting capacities and were effective from last week.
Sources said the unbundling process was done before the death of Mr Nyatanga upon realising the need to split the positions.
