ONE of the Harare-based dancehall and reggae groups, Judgement Yard and Champion Sound set Bulawayo revellers on a groovy mood last Saturday at Hartsfield Tshisanyama as they pulled a splendid jam session.
Celebrating Ras Obbie’s birthday one of the Hartsfield Tshisanyama’s partners, the mixtapes played by DJ Etherton Benniekept kept revellers on their feet for hours.
Dj Flevah said the reason they chose to come and help Ras Obbie celebrate his birthday is because they love the city.
“Bulawayo is more of a second home to us, given a chance we would relocate and stay here forever.
“There is so much love here, the love we get in Harare is doubled in Bulawayo hence we keep coming back,” he said.
Flevah said the people of Bulawayo appreciate and support art which makes it a lot easy and so much fun to perform to them.
“Every show in the city is memorable, every time I was here, I enjoyed a lot. The people here understand and appreciate art, they love and support Djs, not just us but they support everyone who performs for them. Bulawayo never disappoints, they come in numbers to every show and their reaction to every performance is amazing, it makes one want to give the best and more,” Flevah said.
The Dj said he is looking forward to other shows they have lined up in the city.
“I am always excited and looking forward to coming to Bulawayo.
“We have a couple of shows lined up, the whole Judgement Yard group will be coming to the city this weekend but before then we will be performing in Francistown, Botswana,” he said. —@ruekushie
