Julius Robinson tees off

The annual Julius Robinson, the second event for the 2015 Zimbabwe Golf Association programme, tees off at Wingate Country Club this weekend. This year’s Julius Robinson will be played on Saturday and Sunday with 18 holes on each day for both team and individual competitions.

The players had until yesterday to register as individuals while team events are already registered.

The event has order of merit points and selection process for the Zone VI 2015 team. Thembelani Vundla is leading the current standings.

The Julius Robinson will incorporate all clubs from across the country.

Vundhla has 246 points while Tonderai Masunga is in second place on 245 points.

Stuart Krog, on 236 points, is in third place.

Visitor Mapwanya, Doctor Maphosa, Kieren Vincent, David Amm, Pride Sembo and Travis Smith will be out to pile pressure on the leaders.

The amateurs were outclassed by Scott Vincent in the first event of the season, the Dugmore Trophy at Bulawayo Golf Club.
