BULAWAYO Jumbos moved to second place on the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Netball League log following their stunning 35-14 win over Zimpost at the weekend. They have amassed 30 points from 13 outings, with three points separating them from championship favourites Ntutu Sparrows who have 33 points after 11 matches.
Goal attacker Letty Mabhuta was the most outstanding player for Jumbos as she top scored with 20 points.
Jumbos captain Philingani Muzamba praised her team for a spirited performance.
“It was a good game, we played well. We hope to continue winning so that we can challenge Ntutu Sparrows for the championship,” said Muzamba.
On the other hand, Zimpost captain Sakhile Mtshitsho is still convinced that they can turn things around in the second half.
They are currently on eighth position on the log standings with 15 points after 13 matches.
“We played well, though the results tell a different story, we hope to bounce back in the second half of the season,” said Mtshitsho.
