from Takunda Chimutashu while Dominican Convent’s Felistas Karemba emerged as Deputy Mayor. Oriel Boys High’s Mahommed Zvakavapano landed the post of City Treasurer, Heritage’s Oguejiofor Nneamakar was sworn in as Chief Whip while Ruvimbo Mujuru was voted to Town Clerk’s position.

Harare Mayor Mr Muchadeyi Masunda said contrary to most parents’ negative perception, the Junior Council was critical in instilling a sense of direction, leadership and responsibility in children.

“Not many parents are well versed with helping children on career choices, many of us and our own children have ended up with funny combinations at Advanced Level like History, Geography and Management of Business. The programme will inculcate a sense of civic duty as well as assist in the works of the Mayor’s Cheer Fund,” Mr Masunda said.
