ZIMBABWE will make a second appearance at the TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2016 which tees off on June 14.
David Amm, Justin Kerstern, Bekhithemba Ndlovu and Kieran Vincent will represent the country against 87 of the world’s best junior golfers who will descend at Toyota City, Aichi-Prefecture, Japan.
The Chukyo Golf Club’s Ishino Course will once again host the 24th annual event — the third consecutive in which a girls’ competition is included.
TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2016 vice-chairman, Eiji Tagashira, said they were happy to be hosting the prestigious tournament once again.
“The executive committee is very excited to once again have the best junior golfers in the world participating in the TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2016 Supported by JAL. “The Japanese teams – including defending boys’ champion Ren Okazaki — are once again very strong and eager to defend their titles,” he said.
The TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2016 is the world’s only junior golf championship in which 15 national teams – winners of regional qualifiers held across six continents and which features more than 65 national teams – compete for the world championship.
Defending champions Japan lead the boys’ field.
The TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup 2016 Supported by JAL will have the best three scores of four in the boys’ competition and the best two scores of three-players in the girls’ category counting.
Meanwhile, all roads will lead to Kwekwe for the inaugural 2016 Kwekwe Open Amateur Golf Championship tomorrow.
The event will see all the top amateurs taking part in the event that comes barely a week after the Roland Park Open.
