Junior golfers set for US tournaments

The junior golfers were chosen after leading the junior order of merit with 252 and 224 points respectively for the event running from December 20 to 23.
Hudson is currently studying in South Africa were he is doing well in both academics and the sport while Krog plays for Chapman Golf Club were he is the club champion.
Hudson is confident that he will try his best when he faces the world’s finest junior golfers.
“I’m at the TUKS Sport academy where I study under a Matric syllabus and also have a full golf training program with elite coaches from golf coaches to gym trainers to psychologists and nutritionists.
“I am currently writing my matric exams and shortly after, embark on my journey to America where I will be representing our country at the Orange Bowl and the Doral Junior Classic which are for the best juniors in world.
“This year I have been playing a lot of high school events in South Africa.
“I have won every big event which includes Dainfern Schools Championships, Gauteng North Schools Championships, South African Schools Championships and St Johns International Schools event,” Hudson said.
Meanwhile the Zimbabwe Amateur All-Africa Challenge team left the country yesterday morning for South Africa to take part in the tournament which tees off this week.
Speaking ahead of their departure the Zimbabwe Golf Association president Martin Rateiwa was confident that they will do well in the tournament. He said Zimbabwe would bid to host the All Africa Games.
“I am positive that we will excel and do the country pride.”In our bidding to host the Africa Amateur Golf Team Championships, we are competing against Ivory Coast. I am again positive we will succeed as wehave the backing of all the Zone VI countries,” said Rateiwa.
