MINISTER of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza handed over a donation of Starlink kits from President Emmerson Mnangagwa to junior parliamentarians in Manicaland this morning.
The Starlink kits, which seek to bridge the digital divide, were handed over at a ceremony that took place at Mutare Teachers College.
Minister Mugadza said the kits are part of a broader effort by Government to connect schools nationwide – promoting a technologically advanced generation in line with Vision 2030.

“This initiative will go a long way in enhancing digital literacy and skills among Zimbabwean citizens, and empowering a new generation of professionals who can contribute to technological innovation,” said Minister Mugadza, further stressing that Government envisages equipping 1.5 million youths with digital literacy by 2030.
Provincial Education Director, Mr Richard Gabaza stressed the impact of the initiative, saying it is a significant step towards ensuring every learner has access to global knowledge and resources, regardless of geographical location.
Last year, President Mnangagwa assisted the junior MPs with electronic tablets in a move meant to equip them with tools that enhance learning, innovation, and community engagement.
The devices and the Starlink kits are expected to boost digital learning, research capacity, and communication skills among the junior parliamentarians, through access to high-speed internet, aligning with the Government’s thrust to empower the youth through education and technology.
