Pumula North Hall was a hive of activity on Tuesday as an array of young artistes from around Bulawayo converged to showcase their talent as they celebrated Africa Day.

The event that was dubbed My Heritage Show ran under the theme “Embracing my African Heritage through arts and culture”. It was a colourful event that was organised by the Home of Arts Entertainment in partnership with Yellow World, Hustle Gang and New City Style.

Diverse artistes – Indosakusa the Morning Star Juniors, Pumula Arts and Craft, Msheli Wentombi, The Maskandi guy, Sammy C, Mandy the S.B, Reliance, Ginger Stone, DrloveNj, Vanessa Tsuro the model, Infinity Art, Pumula junction dance crew and New City Style took turns to entertain the attendees.

In attendance were Pumula MP Hon Sichelesile Mahlangu, deputy mayor Clr Mlandu Ncube, Ward 17 Councillor Skhululekile Dube, representatives from the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, ZRP, residents and youths from around Bulawayo.

Speaking after the event, Home of Arts Entertainment director, Happy Mpofu said the event lived up to its billing as local artistes were given the platform to showcase their art.

“The My Heritage Show, a youth-led initiative whose aim was to embrace the African Heritage through arts was held to promote the different talents that young people have. Also, it was meant to encourage other youngsters who’re yet to discover their purpose and talent,” said Mpofu. – @mthabisi_mthire
