HIGHLANDERS coach, Hendrik Pieter de Jongh has collected his first accolade in Zimbabwe after winning the Castle Lager Coach of the Month award for October.

Bosso striker, Prince Dube also made it two awards in a row when he once again bagged the Player of the Month, having taken the same prize in September.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on Tuesday announced that De Jongh and Dube took the honours in October. PSL coaches, captains and journalists who are part of the Soccer Stars voting panel choose recipients of the two monthly awards.

“It’s a Bosso affair!! Congratulations to @HighlanderBosso coach Hendrikus Pieter De Jongh and Prince Dube for winning coach and player of the month of October,’’ posted the PSL.

De Jongh joined Highlanders at the end of September and Bosso are still yet to taste defeat in the league as well as Chibuku Super Cup since the Dutchman became head coach. Amahlolanyama won three and drew two of the five league encounters they played in October.

It was an eventful October for Dube who has recovered from a sluggish start to the season to score five league goals so far. Dube was on target in Bosso’s 2-0 win over Chicken Inn. He was on target again when Highlanders defeated TelOne 2-0. The Warriors striker was however sent off when Bosso drew 1-1 with ZPC Kariba, which saw him miss the league encounters with Yadah at home and Dynamos away.

Dube’s brilliant performance in the Chibuku Super Cup has seen Bosso reach the final of the country’s only knockout competition.
