JUST IN: ED arrives in Zambia

President Mnangagwa has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia where he is set to hold bilateral talks with his counterpart President Edgar Lungu and also attend the country’s 54th independence anniversary.

He was welcomed at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport by President Lungu and Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Zambia Gertrude Takawira. Soon after landing, President Mnangagwa inspected a guard of honour and was honoured with a 21-gun salute by the Zambian military.

President Mnangagwa is accompanied by Industry and Commerce Minister Mangaliso Ndlovu and Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet (Presidential Communications) Mr George Charamba.

Also present to welcome the President was Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Joel Biggie Matiza, Energy and Power Development Minister Jorum Gumbo and Women Affairs, Community and Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Sithembiso Nyoni.

The ministers traveled ahead of President Mnangagwa to attend the Zimbabwe/Zambia Joint Permanent Commission.
