Fungai Lupande Mashonaland Central Bureau
At least 86 people have been left homeless in the Kanyemba area of Mbire district following the flooding of Mwazamutanda River.

The floods destroyed 18 houses, leaving one woman and a child injured.

The Provincial Development Coordinator Mr Timothy Maregere said the affected families have been relocated to schools while the Civil Protection Unit attends to the situation.

He said although the water levels have subsided most fields along the Mwazamutanda River are submerged in water. Three boreholes in Mariga and Nyaruparo villages have also been affected by the floods.
