Victor Maphosa Recently in Masase, Mberengwa
GOVERNMENT has been commended for intervening in addressing water challenges at Masase Mission Hospital in Mberengwa District.
Early this year, the Evangelical Lutheran Church run hospital taps went dry after the pumping system which was installed some decades ago collapsed.
Hospital authorities then appealed to the Government for assistance. Government through the District Development Fund sent a drilling team which has already drilled a borehole which will supply portable water at the Hospital.
Masase Hospital administrator Mr Zibusiso Moyo thanked the Government for the swift intervention saying the relief came at the right time.
“We are happy with this assistance from Government. This shows that our relationship with the Government, as a church is good.
“We are hopeful that this partnership will go a long way.”
DDF Director Water Supplies Engineer Edwin Toriro promised that water will be available at the Hospital by Monday.
“The situation should be back to normal by Monday. All installations would be done by Sunday. We want the hospital to have water as soon as possible,” he said.
