JUST IN: No more relegation for PSL this season

Tadious Manyepo

IN what should rank as the anti-climax of the season, Premier Soccer League teams have voted against relegation this year.

This is to enable the smooth transitioning of the league into a 20-team pool in line with international standards.

With four teams already promoted from the four regions across the country, that means the PSL will have 22 teams in the league in the 2026 season.

Six teams will then be relegated at the end of the term but possibly not the ones who were likely to be demoted this year like Yadah, Greenfuel, Triangle, Manica Diamonds, Dynamos, Highlanders and Bikita Minerals.

That also means Kwekwe United, whose relegation was confirmed two months ago will also be up there with the big boys.

The decision is certainly going to divide opinion.
