TWO Zimbabwe boxers, Tadious Dzandiwandira and Trade Nkomozabo last night crushed their semi-final foes to book places in the finals of the ongoing Tanzania International Open Boxing Tournament.
The tournament is part of a series of events to which boxers accumulate points which will eventually be tallied to determine those to qualify for the upcoming Olympic Games.
However, the pair have missed several previous tournaments and they will be hoping to win their respective final bouts in Dar es Salaam tonight for them to be able to make it for another event in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nkomozabo last night got the better of Kenya’s Hassan Shaffi Bakari with a split decision 4-1 score in the flyweight semis.
Dzandiwandira, on the other hand, walloped Mefsin Biry Keralah of Ethiopia 5-0.
The two will be hoping to win their respective final bouts and stand a chance to accumulate more qualifying points in the upcoming tournament in the DR Congo.
