SCHOOLS should follow laid down procedures to protect pupils against contracting Covid-19, Midlands provincial education director, Mr Jameson Machimbira, has said.

Schools are preparing to open for classes next week and officials from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education have been visiting schools in the province to assess their preparedness.

Mr Machimbira, who was speaking at an occassion where a private organisation, Farm Community Trust of Zimbabwe(FCTZ), was donating sanitary wear to vulnerable girls and sanitisers to 15 schools in Gokwe on Monday, said schools should guard against becoming Covid-19 hotspots.
