Last month Zimbabwe celebrated the works and sacrifices by the gallant sons of the soil in fighting against the Smith regime for independence.
As such, a local police band which goes by the name Just In Time Crew has penned a song titled Tinotenda, a piece which gives thanks to the national heroes who dedicated themselves to the Second Chimurenga.
The song is accompanied by a video which is enjoying massive rotation on national broadcaster Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Television (ZBCtv).
Comprising Assistant Inspector Maxwell Thomas Nyandoro, Sergeant Hault Mucheni and Constables Ray Mutizwa and Daniel Mbiza, the crew sings songs that send important messages to the community.
Representing the crew, Maxwell Nyandoro said: “Tinotenda is a song dedicated to both fallen national heroes and those that are still alive. It is a piece which gives honour to the people who have made it possible for us as Zimbabweans to be free today.”
As the Covid-19 pandemic is claiming lives of many worldwide, the Just In Time Crew joined a number of international artistes in penning songs of hope that help people gain knowledge in fighting Covid-19.
They have also masterminded a song titled Kugarisana that fights against domestic violence whose cases escalated during the lockdown.
“We have done a number of projects about Covid-19 with the first one being Dziviriro Yakanaka. It is meant to conscientise the public on the deadly pandemic and advising them to sanitise always, stay at home and maintain social distancing.
“During the lockdown cases of domestic violence rose and we penned the song Kugarisana which is meant to educate people on domestic violence as well as seeking God when conflicts arise,” said Nyandoro.
Apart from these projects, the Just In Time Crew boasts of two gospel albums titled Mwari Munondigonera and Makaunza Mufaro where they featured Pastor Haisa on two songs Makandiyambutsa and Ngiyamazi.
The four-member crew is working on its third album which is set to hit the market by December.
