JUST IN: Two more people succumb to Covid-19

The country recorded two more Covid-19 deaths and 68 new cases yesterday but there are no patients admitted in intensive care units at hospitals countrywide.

In its latest update, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said the two deaths were recorded in Harare and Mashonaland East provinces.

All the new 68 Covid-19 cases are locally transmissions.

“Harare had the highest numbers with 29 cases while Bulawayo had 22 new cases. There are 45 hospitalized cases, nine asymptomatic, 24 mild to moderate ,12 severe cases and no one in intensive care unit,” said the ministry.

It said the country recoded 512 new recoveries and has 3 171 active cases.

The recovery rate stands at 87 percent.

Bulawayo had eight new recoveries which leaves the province with 225 cases. Matabeleland South has 31 active cases and Matabeleland North province has 168 active cases.
