JUST IN: ZETDC MD appears in court

ZIMBABWE Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company managing director appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court today facing allegations of violating the tender procedures involving US$1 405 920.

Lovemore Chinaka, who was being represented by lawyer Mr Oliver Marwa, was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Esthere Chivasa.

He was being charged with criminal abuse of duty as public officer.

Mrs Chivasa freed Chinaka on $30 000 bail and report to Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission once a fortnight.
