THE country has reported one more Covid-19 related death and 66 new cases in the last 24-hour cycle, bringing the total number of cases to 35 862 with Matabeleland South having the high number of cases.
The seven-day rolling average for new cases remain at 95 from 166 on Saturday.
All the 66 new cases are local transmissions.

So far, the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in Zimbabwe now stands at 1 441 while the national recovery rate stands at 89,6 percent.
A total of 1 643 PCR tests were conducted yesterday and positivity was 4 percent.
As of February 22, 2021, at 3PM, there were 147 hospitalised people of which five patients were admitted in intensive care units (ICU) while 43 had mild to moderate symptoms. Thirty-six had severe symptoms while 63 were asymptomatic.
According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the highest number of 31 cases was reported in Matabeleland South followed by Bulawayo with 16 cases.

Harare recorded nine new cases while Manicaland had five cases. Matabeleland North had three new cases while Masvingo and Mashonaland West had one case each.
The remaining three provinces did not report has cases in the last 24 hours.
“As of February 22 2021, Zimbabwe, has now recorded 35 862 confirmed cases, 32 216 recoveries and 1 441 deaths,” reads the statement.
“Ninety-one new recoveries were reported and the national recovery rate stands at 89,6 percent and active case go down to 2 205 today.”

So far, Bulawayo province has recorded 5 239 cases 4 899 recoveries, 140 active cases and 200 deaths.
Meanwhile, cases and four deaths reported by Matabeleland South are from the last 24 hours but from January. They wee picked from a data verification and consolidation exercise conducted routinely during an outbreak to ensure data integrity.
