Kadewere undertakes personal training

LYON forward Tino Kadewere has remained at his club’s base during the current international break to continue with personal training.

With the Zimbabwe national team not in action, most Zimbabweans who ply their trade in foreign leagues use the break to visit their families here back home.

This is not the case, however, with Kadewere who has decided to put in some extra work to increase his chances of breaking into the team.

Speaking to Zimpapers Sport from his base in France, Kadewere said he reached this decision after a discussion with his personal trainer.

“I’m here in France and did not travel, because I feel like I have to put on some work.

“I have some routines that I’m following with my personal trainer and I’m working on improving myself.

“So yeah that’s what I’ve been doing,” he said.

The Zimbabwe international, who has been struggling for game time at Les Gones, said his aim is to get some game time.

“I’m trying to work hard and put in a lot of work so that I can get some game time.

“I want to improve myself and make sure that I prove my worth to the team,” he said.

Kadewere has made two appearances for his team so far this season — starting in Lyon’s 1-4 defeat to PSG and rising from the bench in their goalless draw against Nice.

Lyon are bottom of the Ligue 1 standings after four rounds of matches — managing one draw and suffering three defeats.

Kadewere rejoined Lyon this season after a loan stint at Real Mallorca in the Spanish top-flight last season.
