A KADOMA man is suspected to have committed suicide after failing to win back the heart of his estranged wife.

His death came barely two days after sportsman Blessing Scott Kamwise’s body was found with stab wounds near Waverly waterworks here in Kadoma.

Brian Gwata, was found dead, near the railway line, adjacent to Rimuka suburb, on Friday morning.

He was 41.

In a graveside speech, a relative said Brian’s brother, Walter, also committed suicide in South Africa, six months ago.

His sister, Emilda, said:

“We’re shocked by this development. He only had an issue involving his son Arnold, 10.

“The other one was about his estranged wife.

“They were no longer living together and some sort of strife was unfolding. We never thought that could ever bring him to this.”

Some mourners said Brian was failing to reconcile with his estranged wife, who was rejecting his advances.

“Brian was a jovial fellow, he would even call at odd hours to relay some humorous stuff,” said an uncle.

“Around 10pm on Thursday, before we received the sad news, he called to say he was going to the airport.

“He said he would call when he got to his destination, which he never mentioned. Is this the destination he was talking about?”
