KADOMA City Council has released 150 hectares of land towards the Munhumutapa Housing Scheme, Zimpapers has learnt.

This was said by the council engineer, Mr Blessing Musasira, during a meeting between Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo and local authorities in Sanyati district.

To date, over 14 000 residential stands have been designed throughout the entire province and await allocation under the scheme, with youths expected to take up 30 percent of the total amount.

“We have released 150 hectares of land at Victory Park for the Munhumutapa Housing Scheme. This is in line with supporting the scheme,” he said.

Other local authorities that have released land for the scheme include Karoi, Norton, Mhondoro-Ngezi and Chegutu.

The Munhumutapa Housing Scheme is a national youth empowerment initiative launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to provide affordable residential stands and housing units to young people in all 10 provinces.
