Kadoma win Super Six tourney

KADOMA Cricket club were crowned the annual Chegutu Super Six Cricket bash champions after they got the better of hosts Chegutu in the final over the weekend.

Chegutu had dominated the tournament for the past four years but they finally let the title slip through their hands after a 23-run loss in the final.

Tony Manyonga, from Kwekwe, won the best batsman award.

Kadoma’s Carl Mumba walked away with the best bowler award while Tariro Kapungu was judged the best fielder.

Takudzwa Kaitano from Kadoma was man-of-the-tournament.

The one day tournament saw five teams — Chegutu, Kadoma, Rimuka, Kwekwe and Norton — taking part in the annual event.

Chegutu were looking for a win in the event that had Splash Paints and Plastics and Charles Stewart Day Old Chicks coming on board as sponsors of the event.
