NGEZI Platinum coach Clifton Kadurira says they are hoping to kick start their pre-season preparations next week as they are not taking any chances ahead of the 2016 Premiership season.

The Northern Region Division One soccer league champions had a successful season that saw them taking an unassailable lead with six games to go before the season ended.

Ngezi Platinum lost only two matches to eventually earn the sole ticket to the top-flight league.

Kadurira said they are starting their pre-season preparations early next week with trials to make some additions to his squad but insisted that he is retaining his team.

“I think next week Tuesday or Wednesday that is when we will be starting our preparations. We will start with trials then those that make it will join the rest of the team.

“I am looking at all departments from defence, midfield and the strike force. At the moment I cannot disclose any names but we will retain the team that we had last season and make just a few additions, about five or six players,” said Kadurira.

The Ngezi Platinum coach said although they are expecting to face tough competition in the Premiership they will not be intimidated when they make their maiden appearance next year.

“I think in the Premiership there is a lot of competition, but I don’t think football is different. There isn’t such a big gap between the Premiership and Division One and I don’t think my guys will face many problems, so I am retaining all of them. I still trust my team.

“We can see some of the players in the Premier league coming to Division One and players from Division One also going into the Premiership doing well, that’s why I am saying there is no big difference.
