adminHOW MINE coach Kelvin Kaindu reckons Caps United’s desperation for points will be his team’s biggest advantage at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Makepekepe are undefeated at home this season as they chase the league crown which they last won in 2005. However, their resolve faces stern test from Kaindu’s charges who are looking to build on the momentum of their Chibuku Super Cup triumph over Dynamos and their midweek win over Hwange.
It’s that good run by Makepekepe that Kaindu believes will open up the game for the miners who are keen on handing United their first home defeat of the season.
“Our advantage is that we are playing a team that is fighting for honours and will be desperate for a win to keep the pressure on FC Platinum,” said Kaindu.
“They will play an open game and that will give us an opportunity to attack them as well unlike playing a team that is content with a draw or minimising damage. But we are fully aware that we are playing a very good side that has earned its place among the title chasers so we are not taking anything for granted.”
However, Kaindu is worried that some of his aging players will fail to cope with the demands of playing three games in eight days.
“We don’t have the best average age in terms of our players and loading them with three matches in such a short space of time is a very big strain. But it’s a concern that we have addressed at training and I hope they will manage to compete on the same footing with the opponent,” he said.
