Speaking on Day Two of his team’s preparations at Hillside Dams on Tuesday afternoon, the history making former Zanaco of Zambia and England trained coach, said modern day football requires players to work with the ball and focus on the technical aspect of the game.
“Physical fitness is also very important indeed but football nowadays is different from yesteryear, we need to work with the ball while also working on the players’ fitness.
“This is not the best start but we are failing to get a proper football ground for our preparations and this is the only place we managed to get,” said the man who led Tshilamoya to a historic 23-match unbeaten run in league games last season, a feat that saw the Bulawayo giants missing out on the Castle Lager Premiership title on goal difference after ending the season tied on 69 points with eventual winners and bitter rivals Dynamos.
Last month, the Bulawayo City Council flighted notices in the press advising that all its stadia would be shut down for maintenance purposes until the end of this month.
Kaindu yesterday said running at Hillside Dams was the way to shake off the off-season fat and rust.
The Zambian native said with a potentially explosive encounter against Dynamos in the Bob 89 Cup next month coming up, there was no time to waste.
Kaindu is said to have indicated in his end of year report that he wanted to hit the ground running.
Bosso boss, Peter Dube insisted that all was in order.
“The boys are concentrating on their physical fitness and I don’t think we will have any troubles with the city council when it comes to use of their facilities.
“They always take care of our needs since time immemorial and they take pride in that therefore I do not think this year will be any different,” said Dube.
