“I think if there is a player who deserves to be called up to the national team it’s Masimba Mambare. He is on fire, he has been playing well for us,” said Kaindu. He said the player’s performances in the second half have been key to his team staying in the race for the Castle Lager Premiership title.
“He has been so influential for us scoring very good and crucial goals for that matter, I believe it boils down to consistency on his part,” said the former Bosso and Zanaco right attacking link.
Mambare was not the only player from the log leaders called up in the team announced on Wednesday. His very consistent goalkeeper, a sure candidate for Zimbabwe Goalkeeper of the Year, Ariel Sibanda and veteran central defender Innocent Mapuranga, are part of the Warriors squad to play against Angola in the final leg of the 2013 Afcon finals qualifier in Luanda on 13 October.
“Ariel has been consistent for us, he has kept us going with some good goalkeeping. It’s good for the team to have him with Mambare and Mapuranga in the national team, their exposure with the foreign- based players is going to help us as a club. “As for Mapuranga he is getting these call-ups when he has matured as a player.
It will push him to keep on working harder on the field,” said Kaindu. The Bosso central defender has formed a rock solid partnership which has conceded the least number of goals in the league. He has been as tough as teak with Eric Mudzingwa another player who deserves recognition for his outstanding performances for Highlanders. Knowledge Musona and Tinashe Nengomasha have been called up to the squad after missing the 3-1 win at Rufaro Stadium. Buffaloes star Prosper Matizanadzo has also been called up.
The Warriors Ariel Sibanda, Marlon Jani, George Chigova, Maxwell Nyamupangendengu, Noel Kaseke, Esrom Nyandoro, Onismor Bhasera, Carlington Nyadombo, Arnold Chaka, Innocent Mapuranga, Partson Jaure, Vusa Nyoni, Archie Gutu, Denver Mukamba, Oscar Machapa, Tinashe Nengomasha, Abbas Amidu, Prosper Matizanadzo, Khama Billiat, Quincy Antipas, Knowledge Musona, Takesure Chinyama, Donald Ngoma.
