HIGHLANDERS have suffered kicks and blows over the past five matches which coach Kelvin Kaindu wants to quickly forget as the Bulawayo giants bid to win their first league title in 18 years.
Bosso started the campaign brightly, after picking the maximum points against bitter rivals Dynamos, on the opening weekend.
They even led the standings for a significant period of the first phase.
But they have been on a downward spiral since losing 2-0 to FC Platinum two months ago.
They haven’t won a game since beating CAPS United 2-0 at Barbourfields on Apri 28l.
Bosso face Hwange at home this weekend.
“I think it hasn’t been a good phase for us and we need to find a solution for us to come out of this phase,” said Kaindu.
“Playing Hwange, I think they haven’t been doing quite well this season but they are coming from a victory and knowing that they have the pedigree, especially playing against Highlanders.
“I think it is a team that is not predictable in the way they play.
“They are a good team and, probably, there are a number of guys playing for that team who are from this place (Bulawayo).
“It is not going to be easy but if we can just focus and, maybe, improve our conversion rate (we will win).
“We keep on motivating the boys, firstly we keep on looking at the positives we are doing. We have the ability to score, if you are a coach with a team which is able to create chances, you know where to start.
“We just hope that we can improve.”
He added:
“Pressure will always be there. You win, there is pressure, you lose there is pressure but it’s about the ability for you to get the momentum even if there is pressure.
“The fans have been exciting and they have been supporting the team. We will turn around whatever has been happening.
“The league is quite competitive. If you look at how the season started, there were different teams leading. We once led the standings as well and for a significant period until Manica Diamonds came on but it’s now FC Platinum at the top.
“That shows there is a lot of competition”.
