DYNAMOS coach Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe is excited with the progress he is seeing at his team ahead of the 2024 season.

The Glamour Boys completed their week-long pre-season camp in Kariba on Saturday and returned to the capital on Sunday.

They will resume sessions in the capital today as they prepare for their season-opening Harare Mayor’s Cheer Fund Cup tie against CAPS United at Rufaro next week.

Mangombe, who is expected to have been elevated to a substantive role, has been given an ideal space to prepare his charges, including the retreat in Kariba that was designed to create team bonding.

“We are back from Kariba where we had a very good time together as a team. We were primarily looking at achieving team bonding and we managed to attain that.

“Players now know the difference between serious talk and jokes in our context as Dynamos,” said Mangombe.

“We were also looking at training different motor qualities like speed and general fitness.

“Kariba is hot and being there helped us in terms of burning fat. We played some closed-door friendly games as we assessed our systems.

“The systems were coming up well, I really liked the way the boys were responding, especially given that the surface we were using was not very ideal”.

DeMbare engaged in friendly games against local teams in Kariba.

“We have been able to circulate the ball and create scoring opportunities and even our pressing is very good.

“We are regrouping in Harare to try and work on the aspects of the game that we noticed need to be addressed.

“Dynamos have their norms and values so we needed to introduce team spirit and philosophy to the boys, I am happy they have grasped that very well.

“They now know the system and how they are supposed to fit in and drive the brand in whatever they will be doing both on and off the field of play”.

The former Yadah Stars gaffer said the new players at Dynamos are fitting in well and he is expecting his outfit to be competitive in the coming season.

Dynamos have Nomore Chinyerere from FC Platinum and Temptation Chiwunga, who made his name at South African Division One side JDR Stars.

They have also taken on board foreigners including Namibian forward Sydney Uri Khob and Ghanaian Frederick Ansah Botchway.
