Kaluuya out of Black Panther 2

DANIEL Kaluuya will not be returning for the “Black Panther” sequel.

The actor essayed the role of W’Kabi, the best friend to Black Panther and the husband of Okoye, played by Danai Gurira.

Titled “Wakanda Forever”, the actor will not be part of the upcoming film due to scheduling conflicts.

Daniel is set to feature in Jordan Peele’s thriller “Nope”

The actor told Rotten Tomatoes, that due to the clashes in dates and schedules for the two films, he cannot star in the Marvel movie as he has already given his commitment to Peele’s thriller.

Marvel was faced with a setback in the project following the death of the lead character Chadwick Boseman who succumbed to colon cancer in August 2020.

Following his death, the studio announced that no new actors will be cast to take on Boseman’s titular role.

Instead, the sequel would follow the stories of the actor’s prominent characters.

The year that followed was no good either as in August 2021, the film’s star Letitia Wright suffered an injury while filming a sequence involving a stunt rig on-location in Boston.

Moreover, the looming Covid-19 pandemic was already a constant obstacle, with many of the cast members testing positive.

Meanwhile, other actors from the original cast including Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett, will be reprising their roles.

The film is slated to premiere in November 2022.

‘I’m Robert Kelly’s fiancée, not a victim’

R Kelly reportedly got engaged to Joycelyn Savage before his sentencing according to a court letter.

R&B star R Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison last month for using his superstardom to subject young fans –some just children –to systematic sexual abuse.

Now it has been reported that the singer got engaged to one of his victims, Joycelyn Savage.

According to a report by TMZ, aspiring singer Joycelyn Savage shared a letter to a judge dated on June 13 asking the court to hand down a more lenient prison sentence to the rapper in his case.

In the letter she referred to herself as Robert Kelly’s fiancée.

Joycelyn also revealed that she is not the alleged victim in the case.

The letter read, “My name is Joycelyn Savage, and I am Robert Kelly’s fiancée. I am writing this letter in support of Robert in advance of his sentencing, so I can explain to the court that I am not the victim that the government has portrayed me to be.”

The 26-year-old went on to say her “relationship with Robert is amazing,” and they were “deeply in love”.

“He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

‘‘We have a very special connection and are deeply in love. I still support Robert to this day because I love him and will always be here to support him. Robert is not the monster that the government has described him to be.

“The Robert I know is very sweet, gentle and king.

‘‘At the end of the day, he has always made sure that I am taken care of, and any other women he was with as well. He is a great man, with a great heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him,” she concluded.

For the unversed, the letter does not have any mention of the duo’s engagement date.

Savage’s parents Jonjelyn and Timothy Savage have revealed that they have no clue about their daughter’s engagement.

The singer and songwriter (55), was convicted of racketeering and sex trafficking last year at a trial that gave voice to accusers who had once wondered if their stories were being ignored because they were Black women.

The hitmaker is known for work including the 1996 hit “I Believe I Can Fly” and the cult classic “Trapped in the Closet”, a multi-part tale of sexual betrayal and intrigue.

Allegations that Kelly abused young girls began circulating publicly in the 1990s.

Kelly has been jailed without bail since 2019.

He is still facing child pornography and obstruction of justice charges in Chicago, where a trial is scheduled to begin August 15.

Britney Spears’ major victory

Britney Spears’s father, Jamie Spears was ordered by a court to undergo a deposition and provide any papers requested by the pop star’s legal team.

The judge mandated that Spears’ father be deposed in Los Angeles during the next 30 days.

All records pertaining to electronic monitoring must be produced, according to a judge’s order from Brenda Penny.

This action benefits the singer and suggests that the court thinks there is cause to look into the shocking claims –Jamie Spears hired a security company to put his daughter under constant surveillance throughout her conservatorship, including claims of monitoring her phone and bugging her bedroom to record her private conversations.

Before the judge made a decision on these petitions, Jamie Spears’ lawyer, Alex Weingarten, requested that the court grant his team access to the singer’s team’s records so that they may use them to get ready for his client’s deposition.

“It’s a deposition. Not an ambush,” Weingarten said in the courtroom before Judge Penny ruled against his request.

Wednesday’s session was a significant triumph for her.

Her father, who served as her sole conservator for most of the 13 years, placed Spears under a court-ordered conservatorship in 2008.

The conservatorship was finally revoked in November 2021 after Spears’ father was suspended by the court in September 2021 following more than a decade of legal battles against the arrangement.

Although the singer now has more flexibility, the legal dispute between her team and the record label has not been resolved. –Wires
