Kangwa out of Platinum encounter

HIGHLANDERS have been dealt a body blow ahead of their crack league encounter against FC Platinum tomorrow following the suspension of left back Bruce Kangwa.

Kangwa is one of six players set to miss Week 19 action after accumulating three yellow cards.

“Please, note that the player(s) listed hereunder have each accumulated three (3) yellow cards and will be suspended for one match respectively. The said player(s) shall not participate in their club’s matchday 19 of the Castle Lager League matches scheduled for the 19th to 20th August 2015,” said the Premier Soccer League competitions manager Elisha Mandireva in a communiqué yesterday.

Leaders, Chicken Inn, will be without Moses Jackson when they take on Buffaloes in Mutare today while Triangle will have to make do without Hillary Bakacheza in their duel against champions Dynamos, who will also miss Sydney Linyama.

Airmen Chapungu’s Gift Phiri and Caps United’s Moses Muchenje complete the list of suspended players.

It is Highlanders though who will feel hard done by the suspension of Kangwa as he was in terrific form in their five-goal demolition of How Mine last Sunday.

Kangwa missed out on the Soccer Stars of the Year in 2013 after accumulating six yellow cards. He was one of the favourites for a runner-up slot then.

Highlanders are yet to lose a match in the second half of the season and have scored a massive seven goals and conceded just two.

FC Platinum have also not lost a match in the period under review and scored seven goals without conceding.
