‘Kante best EPL player’

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Claudio Ranieri’s side to win the title, and believes one of the Italian’s key men has been the leading player this term. Ferguson claims Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante has clearly been the Premier League’s standout player this season. The 24-year-old was signed by the Premier League leaders last August in a £5.6 million deal from French side Caen and has been one of the key stars in Claudio Ranieri’s side this term. And speaking at a Cheltenham Festival preview lunch, which was attended by The Sunday Times, Ferguson claimed Kante has been the best in the Premier League “by a long way”.

The former Manchester United boss, who guided the club to 13 Premier League trophies in 27 years at Old Trafford, also predicted that Leicester would go on to win the title “with three games to spare”. — Goal
