Kapini has been offloaded by Sekhukhune

FORMER Warriors goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini has been offloaded by South African DStv Premier Soccer League side Sekhukhune United.

His countrymen Charlton Mashumba and Evans Rusike were also shown the exit door alongside Ayanda Dlamini, Sello Motsepe, Cheslyn Jampies, Lucky Mokoena, Justin Shonga, Tshediso Patjie, Tumelo Matona, Sibusiso Mbonani, Siyabulela Shai, Seun Ledwaba and Rebone Ntsoane in a major cull.

Kapini joined the great trek to South Africa to join the now defunct Platinum Stars in 2006 after winning three league titles with Bosso.

He was part of the inaugural Warriors’ squad that competed in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and was also in the travelling party when Zimbabwe made their second consecutive appearance at the 2006 Afcon finals in Egypt.

From Platinum Stars he moved to AmaZulu in Durban, but his services were terminated with six months of his contract remaining due to a frosty relationship with the coach.

It did not take long for him to find a new club in Highlands Park where he spent five years before joining Sekhukhune United. – @innocentskizoe
