Karuru’s future at Kaizer Chiefs in doubt

KAIZER Chiefs and Zimbabwe national team midfielder Ovidy Karuru could find himself playing elsewhere next year after failing to make an impact since joining the Soweto giants at the beginning of the current campaign.

According to an impeccable source within the AmaKhosi camp, the club may be forced to ship Karuru out when the Transfer Window opens in January or before the start of next season.

“It’s difficult for Ovidy to get game time, because the team is doing well. Don’t be surprised to see him moving elsewhere whether in January or at the end of the season,” said the source.

The 25-year-old Karuru could however, get a chance to rescue his Chiefs career in the Caf Champions League should the club decide to retain him until the end of the campaign.

“However, if he remains beyond January, then he will have to impress when given a chance, probably in the (Caf) Champions League” concluded the source.

AmaKhosi had to release another Zimbabwean, Lincoln Zvasiya, who failed to command a regular place in the team for two seasons, and it remains to be seen whether he would also be released or not. – Goal
