Katebe’s late show wins it for Hwange

relegation-threatened Shabanie Mine in this Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the Colliery yesterday.
The defender replaced midfielder Rodwell Chinyengetere in the 80th minute and won the hearts of the Chipangano fans in the 89th minute when he pounced on a loose ball during a goalmouth melee to fire home a ferocious volley past Chinda Boys goalkeeper Victor Twaliki.

It was Katebe’s second goal in Hwange colours.
He first scored when the coalminers beat Motor Action 3-2 at home early in the season.

Before Katebe’s crucial goal, the match was heading for a draw after Shabanie Mine’s gangling defender Tafadzwa Mombeshora had equalised for the visitors in the 76th minute with a glancing header, canceling

Rodwell Chinyengetere’s goal in the 12th minute.
A relieved Hwange coach Tenant Chilumba said his team was working on finishing in the top three at the end of the season.
