Katsande finds the right formula

JOHANNESBURG. – While trends say that one should have an innovative way of marketing themselves or a product, it seems that former Kaizer Chiefs star Willard Katsande prefers a rather romantic approach to advertising his Boss Ya Mboka clothing business.

The retired midfielder is not short of things to do having seamlessly transitioned from being a footballer to being a businessman with booming ventures in construction and clothing.

Boss Ya Mboka Clothing was his first venture after he became a popular figure online due to his style during the intense COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 – talk about making lemonade when life hands you lemons!

Since then he has never looked back, boasting a range of clients across the PSL, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

The business has expanded from only t-shirts to items like jackets and women’s gym clothes.

What has been interesting to witness is the successful approach that the former Sekhukhune United maestro has employed in order to create more exposure to his brand.

Katsande is a famed ex-footballer having spent over a decade in Mzansi and played for a gigantic club like Kaizer Chiefs, therefore, it makes a lot of sense why he is very popular already.

But that alone doesn’t sell you t-shirts.

The 36-year-old was smart by bringing his business partner and lover Bonga into the forefront of marketing the brand.

Her chemistry with her partners is all to show with many of their photoshoots and perhaps many can admit that this brings a very romantic and cozy appeal to their venture.

It has been proven throughout history that people appreciate sentiment and the couple’s constant collaborative visuals are an added dimension to what may make the brand successful.

It also paints Katsande in a lighter tone given that he was known to be a no-nonsense, aggressive, and tough-tackling midfielder during his playing career.

Admittedly, the approach works! – KickOff.com
