Black Rhinos utility player Valentine Katsande says they are expecting to win when they face Ngezi Platinum in a Chibuku Super Cup semi-final at Bata in Gweru tomorrow.

Katsande believes unity within the squad has been the secret to their recent inspired performances.

The army side had an awkward start to the season that saw them struggling in the league and are in the drop zone.

However, they have shifted a gear in the Chibuku Super Cup where they started in a preliminary round and have knocked out Sheasham, Manica Diamonds, and Chicken Inn along the way.

Rhinos carry an underdog tag going into this match considering the blistering form Castle Lager Premiership leaders Ngezi have shown this season.

“I expect to grab a win against Ngezi Platinum on the weekend and also to be on the scoresheet. I am looking forward to helping the team reach the final.

“This game is a different ball game from the one we played in the leg. Of course, we lost 1-0 to Ngezi recently but in that game, we created and missed some opportunities. But now we have worked through the mistakes we made. I believe this time will capitalise on the chances that we will create.

“We have been working on endurance and speed which I believe will propel the team in attack and as well as coming back when defending. If we execute that well as a team we will find ourselves on top of our game.

Katsande, who has been converted from being a defender to playing as an offensive player, said he doesn’t mind being deployed in any position as long the coach entrusts him. “The team has improved a lot recently all thanks to the coaches, all I can say is it’s a result of hard work everyone has been giving his best at training and in any way that could help the team and togetherness.

“We have created a strong bond amongst ourselves and I think that’s the biggest aspect that has helped us to improve as a team

“I’m happy and I can say I’m ready to help the team be in a better position. I’m okay with that even if he moves me to be the goalkeeper. I have no problem with that as long as I’m helping the team,” he said.
