JOHANNESBURG. — Former Kaizer Chiefs star Willard Katsande is set to take up a new industry by storm.
He recently revealed that he has invested heavily in a new venture.
Affectionately known as Salt & Pepper, the former midfielder continues to flaunt his might as a budding businessman after hanging up his boots as a professional footballer.
Although his legacy as one of the most consistent imports in the South African top-flight remains intact, his career as a top businessman seems to be only just beginning, as he announced that he was expanding his wings beyond fashion and construction.
Katsande recently announced via his Facebook page that he had just purchased a fleet of minibus taxis.
“Just bought a fleet of these babies. What business do you think I am starting?”
Admittedly, an easy guess would have been that he will now be a taxi boss, as people who buy taxis are often looking to get into the transport sector.
However, he told KickOff that it was actually a rather more surprising venture, explaining:
“I’m not into the transport business but I am founding a funeral policy with Brian Baloyi.”
Katsande’s seems to have a limitless business acumen, his two other ventures are glaringly different to each other. One is the Boss Ya Mboka fashion line, which was his first popular endeavour away from the pitch.
The clothing brand emerged around the COVID-19 pandemic, ironically, around the same time Katsande began putting video online showcasing his style and signature poses.
The construction business called Katsande Partners soon followed, with the company providing expertise in repair work, painting, and hardware solutions.
It is exciting times for the former Ajax Cape Town (now called Cape Town Spurs) defensive rock, as there’s a huge sense of belief in the former baller due to his proven track-record as an entrepreneur. − KickOff
