Munjodzi is currently out of custody on US$100 bail and is facing physical abuse charges.
Munjodzi’s lawyer Mr Stead Kachere of Musarira Law Chambers asked for the courts to defer the matter because he had other commitments at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Ephraim Zinyandu alleged that on November 10 at around 8pm Munjodzi phoned Katsande and asked her to come over to his house in New Marimba. Katsande arrived at the house and it is alleged Munjodzi intercepted her outside before going together into the house.
Katsande, the court heard, proceeded to the toilet and later went to the bedroom while Munjodzi was in the lounge.
Munjodzi allegedly asked Katsande to join him in the lounge. Katsande allegedly refused and told him she wanted to sleep because she was tired.
This did not go down well with Munjodzi who allegedly followed her to the bedroom from where he dragged her to the lounge by her hair.
Munjodzi punched and kicked her on the chest before pushing her against the wall, refrigerator, stove and tried to strangle her until she bled from the nose and mouth, the court heard.
The court also heard that Katsande tried to run away but Munjodzi dragged her back into the house despite pleas from his tenants to stop assaulting her.
Munjodzi further assaulted Katsande in front of his tenants while accusing her of not listening to him, the court heard. After the assault, it is alleged Munjodzi ordered Katsande to go and sleep.
