Kaunda discharged from hospital

after his sudden illness, a day before a funeral service for his wife who died last week in Zimbabwe.
The sudden illness of the 88-year-old former president resulted in the cancellation of the funeral service and consequently the burial of his wife, Betty Kaunda. She will now be buried on Friday. Dr Luckson Kasonka, the hospital’s managing director, said Dr Kaunda was discharged late on Monday.
The former president was being treated for a minor respiratory infection and possible malaria, which may have been caused by his recent travels, he added. — Xinhua.
