A HIGH-LEVEL delegation from Kavango East Region of Namibia is in the country to strengthen bilateral ties and review areas of cooperation with the twin province of Mashonaland West.

The delegation, led by Kavango East Regional Council Governor Honourable Hamunyera Hambyuka paid a courtesy call on Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo at her offices this morning.

Hon Hambyuka said the delegation was following up on agreed areas of cooperation and to learn from the province in areas of agriculture and education, among others.

“We are here again in our second home, Chinhoyi, in Mashonaland West province and we would like to commend the hospitality enjoyed so far,” said Hon Hambyuka.

“There is more to learn from Mashonaland West province and from the time we signed our MoU, the delegation has been increasing and it will get even bigger as more areas of cooperation increase.”

Minister Chombo said the province had a lot to offer in terms of agricultural production, which the two were exploring.

Mashonaland West Province and Kavango East Region have signed an MoU of cooperation, initially in agriculture and other fields, including governance and operational systems.

The delegation comprises Kavango East Regional Councillors, directors and deputy directors in education, international trade, farmers and councillors from Divundu Village Council, among others.

It will be in the country until August 11 and will attend the Mashonaland West Agricultural Show.
