Zimondi said the team should work hard if they are to get a chance of promotion.
He was speaking at a ceremony where BancEasy tied a US$60 000 sponsorship package for the team.
“I feel greatly honoured and gratified as we witness a great era in the history of Flame Lilly FC’s sporting endeavours,” Zimondi said.
“I believe the sponsorship package will be the driving force for our team to go an extra mile in the realisation of gaining promotion into the country’s elite Premier League.
“We started the campaign way back as Green Buffaloes and lack of incentives let us down.
“We have been perennial campaigners in the Northern Region Division One soccer league and we missed out to Monomotapa and Blue Ribbon in 2004 and 2011 respectively.
“It is our wish to have a successful campaign as there will be no longer any incentive-related scapegoats. I believe this will increase the morale and spirit of the team towards achieving our goal of getting in the Premiership.”
Zimondi said Flame Lilly should consider recruiting civilian administrators to work for the club.
