Keep moving to your greatness

Hunt for Greatness

Not all movement is progress, but without movement there cannot be any progress.

Move to your greatness and do not stop. Every inch towards your goals counts. Never let small steps discourage you. Be like the firefly which gives its light when it is flying.

It is when you are moving that you gain momentum and with it comes advantage, inspiration and motivation.

Keep moving and greatness will appear. Mr Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi observed that when you are focused on something that matters to you and engaged you enter a state of “flow”.

He noted: “The best moments occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.”  Your best moments occur when you are moving towards greatness. You enter the state of flow when you are on the move. Flow is when the momentum of movement takes over and the wheels of greatness are turning. Keep moving.

Some days the skies will be bright and clear. The heavens will seem to cheer you on. Do not rest and waste these moments and think the journey is over, when it has just begun. You are born to be fruitful, and to multiply. Multiply action and not excuses. Some days will be sad, gloomy and wet. Do not let the mud discourage you. You do not need to see distant lands to be on the move. Just one step forward is good enough. Keep moving. Do not let the grey skies tempt you to be negative and to become despondent.

Keep moving and what you are moving towards will greet you from afar. Rest a little when you are tired, but do not stop and lose your momentum. Move across mountains, move through valleys. Whatever happens do not stand still but keep moving. One step at a time is never too difficult to ask. Each step compounds. Compounding momentum makes you unstoppable.

Move out of your comfort zone

Stop looking around and looking at stationary objects to excuse yourself from moving and taking bold steps. Keep moving and even if you are facing huge mountain ranges, just maintain the “runners mantra”. The a runner, the ground ahead may look steep, but wherever you are stepping it is really flat.

Do not let your mind play games with you and infuse fear into your heart. Keep moving and do not stand still in your comfort zone. Stop counting cobwebs and start moving.

The impossible is what others are not willing to do. It is what those who are satisfied with the present can no longer dream of doing. Stand still and you steal your future. Stand still and rest in your comfort zone if you want to be in a rattling rut. It is hard to be discouraged while moving. Keep moving and you will gain momentum — the friend of all greatness.

Move out of your comfort-zone. Do not let other people frame boundaries for you and excuse you from making bold moves. In the comfort zone the boundaries are set very low and no action seems necessary. Move out of your comfort zone and be willing stretch and go where you have never been, doing what you have never done before and being that which you have never been. Stop telling yourself horror stories of failure and engage the action gear. Keep moving.

Many people get comfortable with the comfort-zone and build a community around their comfort zone. The cheese is moving and do not settle in a cheese-less zone of inaction. Make your decision, follow through by stepping out of the comfort zone and do not look back. In the mid-1980s the world of computer began moving. Each step seemed slow, but momentum was being gained. Intel’s business then was mainly making memory chips. It was good business but this was not going to be the engine that was going to transform the future. Mr. Andrew S. Grove of Intel realised that his business could not remain in the comfort zone of memory chips and survive. It was a hard realisation when you are winning accolades.

They decided to move and do the hard thing of moving out of their comfort zone. In his book, “Only the Paranoid Survive” he writes: “As I started [in 1985] to discuss the possibility of getting out of the memory chip business with some of my associates, I had a hard time getting the words out of my mouth without equivocation. It was just too difficult a thing to say.” Mr. Grove moved from memory chips to computer processor chips even though it was the tough thing to do. Move even if the worlds are shaking and words are difficult to frame. Take giant steps of faith and everything else will follow.

Stretch is your strategy

Do let let circumstances, experiences or the negative opinions of other people confine you to the past. Adopt “stretch” as your strategy and way of life. Stretching is always a type of movement. Stretch your mind and imagine new possibilities. Stretch your vision and move higher. Stretch your faith instead of letting your fears hem you in. Stretch beyond your current grasp and go beyond your limitations. Stretch over the wall and do not become comfortable with low ceilings, confined spaces, small thinking and no action.

Keep stretching and become unstoppable. Stretch your dreams and vision. Stretch your plans and goals. Stretch all the factors that give you momentum. Be willing to move towards that which looks impossible. Stretch and you will grow. Stretch towards the sun. Join the ranks of those that believe in action; who move things and do whatever it takes to keep moving. Many things will threaten to stop and immobilise you. Keep stretching and moving.

Stretch and you will grow. Keep moving, keep focused, keep learning and keep growing. Stretch beyond your limitations and stop respecting boundaries that do not exist. Doubt your doubts and double your stretching. Challenge limiting beliefs that have kept you hemmed in place and not moving. Who told you that it cannot be done?

You will find that usually the biggest obstacles to overcome are in your head: in the way you think and process information. Fear will always need a host mind in order to subsist. Some beliefs have outlived their usefulness. Refuse to be bound to the fears of the past and negative conditioning of other people.

Just keep walking, inspired by a noble vision and inspiring goals. Let your eyes look straight ahead with a confident faith. Do not look back, because the past is now history. Do not look down, because the future it is ahead of you and beckoning. Wherever your focus goes, there your attention will go. When your focus is broken it is easier for your spirit to be broken.

Take personal responsibility for your greatness. Do not be tempted to draw up a blame-list, complaining-list or gripe-list. On the road to greatness there is no one to blame. Take full responsibility for your life. You have to say if anything is to be it is up to you. Commit to doing whatever it takes. Whenever you blame anyone you give up and surrender the power to change.

Hear the noise, but do not let the noise stop you from moving. Stand on firm ground, clear your thoughts and keep moving on ahead. In the middle of the noise, take heart and be still enough to hear the still small assuring voice of hope saying: “take another step forward!”

Committed to your greatness.

Maintain your focus and keep moving. There will always be noise and dust in the air, but do not let its negative rays prick your mind, blur your vision and slow your step. Keep moving towards greatness.

Committed to your greatness.
