How time flies. The first month of the year is almost past us and for some, nothing tangible has yet to be accomplished.

The month seemed like a day that just came and disappeared — to where no one knows.

While some of us were still trying to figure out what we really want the year 2022 to look like for us, then boom . . . January is gone just like that.

Like a rushing wind, time flies and waits for nobody.

Some probably feel like giving up already.

Some feel like they have been robbed because they cannot tell where January went.

I believe that we all rejoiced to have arrived into 2022 and I believe that we all hoped to do better in the areas that we were struggling.

But now, probably without much change, improvement or progress, January is gone.

The bible says in the book of Ephesians 5:16, “Redeem the time for the days are evil.”

This means that maximise opportunities because time waits for nobody.

Keep moving, regardless of what might have happened or what did not happen which may be sucking your energy out.

It is too early to emit negative energy into this year.  Stay focused and determined to reach your goal.

When obstacles that try to cripple you arise, change your direction in order to reach your goal, but do not change your decision to get there.

Try to think of the past and how many times you have probably told yourself that it cannot be done, but suddenly someone came along from somewhere to journey with you with renewed vigour and your situation turned around.

Your mind acts on what you feed it.

If you see defeat, you are most likely to experience defeat and if you see victory, you are most likely to experience victory in the things you do.

You are what you are because of what goes into your mind.

Your thinking becomes your actions and your actions become your future.

When you fall, use that as a stepping stone to climb to greater heights.

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is going ahead in the presence of fear.

Martin Luther King Jnr once said: “If you can’t fly then run. If you can’t run, then walk. And, if you can’t walk then crawl.

But, whatever you do keep moving forward.”

This is a powerful statement that says it all. I would like to say that if you can’t crawl then roll and keep rolling until you gain the strength to crawl, to walk, to run and eventually to fly.

Go as far as you can see and when you get there you will see further, keep moving until you soar on wings like an eagle.

The beauty about success is that it starts with a thought which leads to action.

Sometimes, all you need is inspiration and the question I have for you is, where do you draw your inspiration from?

One of the most reliable sources of inspiration comes from the material we read. We can access some of the greatest minds in the world in any field through reading. We can connect with the brilliant men and women who have gone before us and who are still living.

Do you take advantage of this incredible source of inspiration?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question for many is probably “No”.

This is unbelievably tragic.

According to research, those who have a reading culture do well as compared to non-readers.

An extract from my book “Born to Fight” reads, “I learnt that, until we stop fearing the unknown, we will be prisoners in a jail we have built for ourselves.”

I have come across many people who are scared of the tunnel; the moment they peep in and see the darkness in the tunnel they give up.

Sadly, some would have walked a long way already to reach that tunnel, but due to fear they give up.

Some may take forever waiting there hoping that the tunnel will disappear so that they can then proceed with the journey.

However, in most cases, tunnels remain in one place and do not collapse easily.

The best way would be to walk through the tunnel.

What you may need is to find destiny helpers to assist you with crossing.

Do not walk alone in case you come across a problem in the tunnel.

The beauty of it is that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far, go together with others,” says one African proverb.

The challenge with many of us is that we want to achieve success on our own.

We want to have it all to our names and in the process of doing that we probably stamp upon our destiny helpers.

We probably realise this upon reaching tunnels and for some, it may be too late to undo the bad you would have done. As we are about to enter into February 2022, find someone who inspires you to continue moving.

Identify your destiny helpers and treat them carefully knowing that you need them. Destiny helpers may not always be on the same level as you.

Some of them might be from a different social class.

However, it is important to learn to separate business and personal life.

In your personal life, you have all the liberty to choose whom to befriend, but with business, you may need to swallow your pride, reach out to those you may consider lower than you in order to advance.

Be challenged to make it right with your destiny helpers if you had stamped on them.

Be encouraged to keep moving no matter the length of the tunnel.

Be inspired to come up with a plan for the year if you had not done so and be inspired to execute those plans if they were still on paper.

Find mentors and role models whom you look up to and whom you learn from regularly. If we all start moving now, this means that we are moving together and remember together we achieve more, together we go far.
