Keeper on his way to the Bernabeu: Marca

LONDON. – David de Gea has reportedly agreed terms with Real Madrid – and could have played his last game for Manchester United. That’s according to stunning claims in Spanish newspaper Marca. They report that De Gea has given the green light to a long-term contract with Real which was negotiated by super agent Jorge Mendes.

De Gea limped off against Arsenal on Sunday and is a doubt for the final game of the season against Hull.

The hamstring injury could mean he never plays for United again.

Bookies yesterday priced up De Gea joining Real as a nailed-on certainty at 1-20.

SkyBet are currently offering 6-1 on him staying.

Marca are regarded as the unofficial mouthpiece of the Bernabeu giants, reporting all the big deals before they happen.

They claim it is now up to Real and Manchester United to agree a fee.

Back-up stopper Victor Valdes on Sunday admitted he is as confused as everyone else about De Gea’s future.

Valdes said: “I don’t know what will happen, you will have to ask David about that. I can’t answer that.

“Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United are three of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone in the world wants to play for these clubs.

“It’s a question you would have to put to David. I cannot answer for him.” – The Daily Star.
