adminKelly Rowland has been lined up to play Lucious Lyon’s mother in the second season of “Empire”. The former Destiny’s Child star appear in flashback scenes along with Terrence Howard’s character,according to E! News.
There has been speculation about a possible role for the 34-year-old since the show’s scribes posted a group shot of her with them on Twitter on June 3.
It was captioned: “Hey, @KELLYROWLAND! Thank you for spending some time with the #Empire Writers.”
A source revealed the casting to E! on Saturday, July Fourth, at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, where Kelly and her Destiny’s Child mates Solange and Beyonce Knowles posed with headline act Missy Elliot.
The busy celebrity will have to fit filming in with caring for her eight-month-old son, Titan, whom she shares with her manager-husband Tim Wither- spoon.
Kelly joined an A-list cast of guest stars already announced for the sophomore season.
They include Oprah Winfrey, Chris Rock and Marisa Tomei, who will play a demanding venture capitalist.
They will appear alongside rockers Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys and rapper Common.
Things are also set to heat up for Lucious’s ex-wife Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson, according to E! Online.
Hunky Magic Mike XXL actor Adam Rodriguez has been cast as her lover. – Daily Mirror
